In the blessed month of Ramadan, we pray that Allah (SWT) grants peace and mercy upon you and all of mankind. We especially pray that he may alleviate the hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has brought upon us many hardships, as our masjid became limited in terms of access and we have prayed and buried many of our brothers and sisters. May Allah grant them mercy and grant them Jannah-tul Ferdous. We strive to continue our traditions in these trying times, with continued Jumu’ah Salah and daily prayers. However, many of our typical events such as the weekend program are still unavailable due to current restrictions. In order to counter these difficulties, we have been providing Islamic guidance through online events. As this is a community masjid, we rely on your donations in order to sustain and develop our masjid. Recently, we have purchased some land that is 8,000 square feet to accommodate for our growing community. As of right now, our small masjid is unable to hold the thousands of worshipers that come to our three Jumu’ah’s each Friday. This is a clear inconvenience as we block the streets and disrupt our neighbors. For this reason, we plan to build a larger masjid to serve the needs of the community. We are in need of approximately 3.5 million dollars to complete this project. Furthermore, the masjid has accrued thousands upon thousands of dollars’ worth of qard-e-hasana (interest-free debt).
